Midweek golf - Empire GCC: Hj Amir tunjuk belang, sampai ada orang takut nda mau datang

Hj Amir prove today that his first day romp in Dalit was not fluke... an 83 gross beat Hj Manan and myself at his "home" course at the Empire. Birdie? Ada.. Sandy par? Ada.. Long putt.. semua ada.. Susah cari makan ani..

Only three of us played as Mr. Hj X the "pencabar" did not show up.. Maybe takut black tee.. Bunyi dalam email bukan main.. Hunting ground lah.. kan kalahkan orang Jerudong, Mata-Mata and myself.. but I think barangkali takut..

Otherwise, we could have invited other worthy opponents

Dalit Bay
Have not played here since 2000 i think.. Wonderful course with a few of them collaring the beach but danger lurks if you become complacent..

Sabah GCC
Have never played here. According to friends its similar to RBGCC - tough and demanding. We'll see..

New year.. new shoes

Salam all.

Picked up this BARGAIN at the MST golf concession at Parkson Miri today. One of the top models of Footjoy - "Dryjoys"

Could hardly believe my eyes when the price tag was RM229 which is about B$96..
This is for a shoe that once retailed about B$350..

Think Mohamad has one..

Feels like hitting the jackpot especially for a guy who has big feet (11 UK) as I normally need to get shoes in Singapore etc

I think the slashed price is due to this model being phased or closed out to make way for the new model.. It doesnt matter, it would be silly not to buy it at this price as its only $5 more than the FJ Superlites now selling at the Panaga Pro Shop..

Full details as follows - From footjoy.com
ECL™ Leather System by Pittards®
ECL™ or "Extreme Comfort Leather" is a proprietary waterproofing system developed with Pittards® of England. It is a membrane-free leather with a 2-year waterproof warranty. ECL Advanced Waterproof Leather is 30% softer than previous generation FootJoy performance leather.

2-Year Waterproof Warranty
FootJoy warrants that this golf shoe will be waterproof in normal use for two years (U.S. Warranty).

Full Leather Linings
Leather linings provide superior comfort, slip resistance, and in-shoe breathability,

Comfort Plus PU Fit-Bed®
The Comfort Plus PU (poly urethane) Fit-Beds provide super cushioned underfoot comfort.

Maximum OptiFlex™ technology
OptiFlex is softest density TPU (thermal plastic urethane) used in tri-density TPU outsoles. The DryJoys Stability PODS outsole features Optiflex technology throughout all non-PODS areas, creating one of the most flexible outsoles ever developed.

Tri-Density TPU Stability PODS™ Outsole
The Stability PODS outsole now features 9 individual TPU Stability PODS surrounded by dramatically enhanced OptiFlex™ zones to ensure maximum ground contact.

Mental approach

Story supplied by GY
Although the Tiger example may be questionable now after the events over the last 12 months. However, i would leave it readers to decide if the advice given below is useful.

How To Overcome Your Subconscious Mind To Improve Your Golf Game

Golf is a physical game, but more so, it is a mental game. The athleticism of the individual is important, but mental focus and clarity are far more important to a player's ability to perform well.

All golfers tend to demonstrate some level of blocking in their swing. Even the great Tiger Woods tended to block, when joined the professional golfing world.

If you are a serious golfer, and you have studied the career of Tiger Woods, you may have noticed that Tigers' game has improved since he joined the PGA. In recent years, Tiger Woods has demonstrated on the golf course that he has worked hard to eliminate blocking in his swing.

Tigers' willingness to work hard and to improve his golf swing has enabled him not only to stay at the top of his game, but also to bring consistency to his game. It has been through Tigers' consistency that Tiger Woods has won as many tournaments as he has, to become a household name.

Man is his own worst enemy...

If you would like to learn to become a better golfer, you must understand and accept that your golf game will get worse, before it gets better.

Your subconscious mind will struggle with your conscious mind, in its desire to never have to change. Your subconscious mind prefers living in a safe and sane world, where things will always be the same. But, with practice and repetition your conscious mind can win the battle to convert your subconscious mind to a new way of thinking and doing.

Only when your golf swing becomes something you can do, without actually thinking about it, will you begin to see great improvements in your game and your handicap.

If you commit yourself to learning how to improve your golf game, and you commit yourself to retraining your subconscious mind to learn new motor skills, then with time and practice, your golf game will become better.

There is no such thing as an overnight success, even in the game of golf. Becoming a better golfer will require an acceptance and appreciation for the process of retraining the subconscious mind. As you seek to improve your golf game, you will need to commit yourself to overcoming your subconscious desire to avoid the struggle and failure, which are a necessary byproduct of the process of personal growth and development.

Panaga Pro Shop Tournament 5th Dec 2010 - Another tournament, another trophy

Four BMMJ players joined this tournament during the afternoon session. Highlights as below:

Hj Amir Osman
Gross - 103 (padan tah nada online bidding)
Ada untung?: Dapat lucky draw

Hj Abd Rahim Matusin
Gross: 112 (De facto ATM for the day?)
Ada untung?: Won a LYNX carry bag in the lucky draw (Pls contact him if you wish to buy it)

Hj Mohd Zairin Abdullah
Gross: 98
Ada untung?: Division C Nett winner (74 nett)

Yours Truly
Gross: 82
Ada untung?: Gross 1st runner-up and one sleeve in ball sweep.. Kitani bah tu

Others:
1. On the long par 3 #16 (our seventh) Hj Zairin duffed his tee shot and ball rested BEFORE the ladies tee box (took photo but accidentally deleted it) I remember during my time in Australia, some clubs have the rule that should this happen the person would have to buy everybody a drink and drop his pants.

2. Promised Hj Rahim that if he could par the dog leg right par 4 #7 (our 16th) after finding trouble off the tee, I would give him a ball (brand new, bukan used & bekurap as Hj Zairin assumed) He duly delivered and I happily presented.

Quote of the day - Hj Mohd Zairin
"I think you had one too many teh tariks" commenting after another hooked shot by Hj Rahim.

Pictures to come.

BMMJ Year in Review

Salam All.

Just a quick note to all players & members.

What all started at the beginning of January when Hj Manan was back for his holidays in Brunei and to where we are today, would have not happen without the cooperation and teamwork of all players and members. The group has had a outstanding year with regular games and "friendly" competition.

Our membership has grown and continues to do so with some more players pledging to join us in the new year. We hope this positive trend to continue although it must be said that numbers should remain manageable.

For next year, we hope to establish a new system to increase/decrease our handicaps to ensure an even keel for all and perhaps a more simplified merit system. The small matter of creating the official BMMJ logo is also outstanding. Thus I would draw upon the more creative members to come up with suggestion.

A little more than three months from now, we are going to hold the first "overseas" BMMJ game where we will organise a pre-retirement farewell golf for our CEO Pg Hj Ali Pg Hj Matarsat from 23 to 27 March. Venue and further details will be announced separately.

I have indicated to Hj Rahim to help organise a friendly game with the LAPORPO golf team in January and the group can expect similar games throughout the year if the schedule allows.

Going forward, I would seek the commitment of all members to strengthen the spirit of competition and sportsmanship in all our tournaments. Golf has and always be a gentlemen's game. Participation by other members not holding any position in the current committee in setting up future games is warmly welcome. The group after all, is made by us, for us.

Best wishes for the holiday season and happy golfing.

p.s Siapa-siapa jara jadi ATM in 2010 adalah sangat-sangat dialukan untuk undergo intensive REHAB before the season starts in January.. hehe

Hijrah

Salam Maal Hijrah to all.
Semoga amalan kita sepanjang tahun yang lalu diangkat serta diterima dan semoga kita semua akan senentiasa dirahmati dan dilimpahkan syafaat pada tahun baru ini.
