Second Empire Golf Club Amateur Open 11 to 13 March

The tournament will be played right after the Aberdeen European Senior Masters Tournament and expect the course to be nothing but easy. Fast greens, back tees are some of the things players will have to face to be crowned the Champion.

A few of members have expressed their interest to join and I wish them well in the tournament.

Sang Jati Classic - 13th Feb

Hj Zairin, Hj Samuil, Hj Amir, Hj Rahim and myself will participate in this weekend twice postponed SJC.

It will be an interesting day as already Hj Samuil's crystal ball has predicted somebody will achieve a hole in one! Siapakah pemain beruntung itu?

Anyway, this will be the first outing for the newly crowned Croc in BMMJ - Hj Zairin. Will he be able to withstand the mental, verbal pressure and challenges thrown at him from the other members? We shall soon find out...

Dubai Desert Classic: Wounded Tiger, rise of the Eagle

The DDC kicks off today and the star pairing is none other than the World's numero uno - Lee Westwood, due - Martin Kaymer and thres - Tiger Kayu in the same flight.

Much of the media glare will focus on them for the first two rounds, by and large the highlight of the golfing world so far in 2011.

So who will win? Well, who takes your fancy?

Is it going to be Westwood? who is keen to forget his MC in Qatar or the wounded Tiger? While the focus has been with those two, Martin Kaymer is quietly strategising his way onto winning the DDC and a sure shot of taking the coveted Number one spot.

Just like Pg Ali last weekend, while Shahbudin and GY was busy trying to beat each other, they "discounted" Pg Ali who was there to pounce and grab the spoils to collect a total of 10 skins. Pak Presiden was ATM...

Well done Kap!

Pg Ali BLNG farewell pt 2

Stedy Zairin atu, sampai kana tabik hormat...

Zairin's secrets revealed!

I believe his recent good form in Panaga is due to his improved fitness level. Most probably because he cycles to work using his mountain bike. While the distance is only three quarters of a mile, it helps him to stay fit while visualising his swing routine and then shouting munchoi!! (Aussie: Bob's your uncle mate)

In addition, using Power Caddie also helps in conserving energy while Kurma (dates) boost energy levels and keeps hunger at bay.

To summarise:
1. Keep fit
2. Buy a power caddie / use your driver as caddie
3. Eat kurma

So now you know boys, improve your golf by improving your fitness, eat kurma and get a power caddy.

Backspin - BLNG Golf farewell game for Pg Ali

Top 10 BMMJ merit standings - After 29th January game

BMMJ standings after the controversial Jerudong game where both Mohd Yunos (Anak Inchan Junior) the nett winner and myself tournament winner, were adjudged the "joint winners" after ruling made by Rules Secretary Hj Mohd Yusof Taufik.

To be honest, I am not totally convinced that it was the right decision but I will respect it.

Big movers were Hj Amir, Yunos and myself.

Separately, it was also decided that Mohamad's points for the January medal at RBA be annulled and void as he did not even finish nine holes unlike Eastwood.

P.S Ada orang happy tu my handicap kana chop lagi...

Papa got a brand new bag

For winning the BLNG - FM farewell golf game on the 29th Jan, I won a Titleist carrier bag which I then went back to Birdie shop in Jerudong to change for this PING shoulder bag which i now use to go to work.

That's not the whole story. You see, the Titleist bag value was $60 less than the PING bag. To top up the difference, five generous golf buddies help make out the balance hehe... and they wish to remain anonymous.. In addition, the small matter of winning the pool also got me a box of Titleist NXT balls.. Good start to the year... Nice....

Hj Zairin's 62 nett scorecard & honour roll - Watch and weep..

Thanks for lunch today, esok boleh lagi? hehe

Anak Inchan tunjuk garang (English: Hj Zairin is new croc in town)

Hj Zairin (anak inchan Senior) won the overall nett title after a brilliant 86 gross / 62 nett (eight under par) in the Panaga Monthly Medal & Welcoming New Committee last Sunday 6th Feb. Therefore, cementing his position as a potential candidate for the Maruman Golf Tournament to be held in Kuala Lumpur in 2012.

Not even the unsettled weather and Hj Samuil playing alongside could shake his focus and concentration. Obviously, somebody to watch out in the next BMMJ game.

Editor: I am very proud of this breakthrough performance Jang. I hope from now on you can consistently play below 90 and sustain similar performance in the coming months and years. More importantly, you need to produce similar performance not only in Panaga but also in Jerudong, RBA and Empire and reduce your handicap to the magical 18 target (I'm happy to share your Pro V1 too) and record your first win in BMMJ.

As you know, a good golfer play well regardless of location, not just his home course...

Many thanks to Pro Maurice for the pics

Mark of a Champion

Congrats to PING staff player Mark Wilson for winning the WM Phoenix Open and second win in three starts. Mark won the delayed WM Phoneix open in a play off over Jason Dufner when he sank a birdie putt on the second play off hole.

Hj Amir - Bunker expert

I think when Hj Zairin took this video when Hj Amir was in the front bunker on the notorious Par 4 10th at RBGCC, he was expecting trouble. But as you can see, Hj Amir produced a remarkable recovery shot that settled about four feet from the hole

Its Bubba time...

Belated congrats to Bubba Watson for winning the Farmers Insurance Open last week and Mark Wilson at the Sony Open. Both of whom are PING tour players of which they are using the S56 irons. Its a great start to the year for PING.

As for my Anser Irons, winning the TOC at Eastwood, BLNG Farewell at RBGCC and CNY proves it was the right decision to invest in them last year.

Like Hj Rahim before, this BMMJ member also won in the lucky draw.. Happy for you jang.. Good recovery from Saturday...
