Audi Quattro Cup is back

Last year President and myself entered the tournament and finished not too far away from the top three.

Hopefully this year more members will compete..

Entry is a jaw dropping $500 for two players. However, that also gives you a chance to win a brand new Audi A3 in the lucky draw!

Full details can be obtained on the Audi Brunei website.

BMMJ Masters Round up

Mohamad Yunos (anak inchan Junior) won the twice delayed Masters tournament in dominant style with a superb 80 gross and 68 nett at his favourite hunting ground RBA golf club. The game was supposed to be played at RBGCC but changed at the last minute due to not enough buggies at RBGCC. What a shame and very disappointing despite making queries earlier.

Second big story was Hj Samuil being the new OOM leader after his runner-up finish after long time OOM leader and defending Champion Bahreen had a disasterous day of 88gross but finished fifth.

With the win, Yunos handicap will be reduced by two strokes while Hj Samuil's runner-up finish will see his handicap reduced by a stroke.

Funny incident: Hj Dua's opening tee shot ended in the drink and could not even wait for the group photo to be taken. After another shot hit the water, he finally left the green with a NINE although recovered to finish third.

Samuil is new merit leader

The Masters

Every early April, the whole golfing world turns its focus towards Augusta National in Georgia, USA for the first major of the year.

The world's top players descend onto the hallowed turf either trying to win another green jacket or join an exclusive club that counts golfing greats such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Seve and of course Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson...

However, unlike recent years TW is no longer the favourite..

No more...

It has to be Lefty..
For somebody who spent the last decade behind the long shadow of Tiger, I think now is the best time for Phil to really show what he is capable off..

My prediction?
My heart says Westwood but my head says Phil..

Would be pretty cool to make the trip one day..

Hua Hin - Mystery golfer

Who is this golfer dressed all in Blue..

Hint? Think Stallone..

Bangkok - Sophia Halal restaurant

Hj Ahmad Rani introduced us to this good value Halal resto..
Think is around Rama 9 area...

Its got decent decor, TV, Surau & outdoor seating...

Hua Hin - Banyan

Banyan has GPS in the buggy.. Nice...

Luar biasa tu kap..

Hua Hin - Golf outlet

I kid you not.. Khun Jack brought us to this golf outlet just outside central Hua Hin.. some bargains can be found but most of the items were only 20% less than at the normal shops..

Hua Hin - Khun Jack

On paper, Khun Jack is our driver..But actually was more than that..
Khun Jack was actually a mobile money changer, bill checker, joker, tour guide, mango rice buyer.. In short, best driver we had in all of BMMJ foreign trips..

Hua Hin - Winner

Congrats to our senior golfer Hj Alias Duraman on his win..
Well done kap..

Prizes were kindly sponsored by Khun Ali..

Second was yours truly.. of course..

Hua Hin - Tom Yam tumpah seluar Hj Samuil

Not Hj Sam's fault.. Waitress was not paying attention when she took away the bowl
Boleh claim laundry fee tu..

Hua Hin - food (what else?)

On average, each golfer had one and half portion each day..
Hj Samuil liked it so much, he had mango rice for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner..

Maybe this contributed to his stomach problem on the last day..

Hua Hin - The pictures pt.1

I thought maybe for a change.. no pictures of the course this time..
Not fair on those guys who did not make the trip.. dont want to spoil the fun..

Hua Hin is where the ball "floats" on the fairway.. just wish courses in Brunei are like that..

Dawn of a new era in Brunei golf?

Was rubbing my eyes to make sure that I was not dreaming.. But there is now a Professional Golfers Association - Brunei PGA in the country.

They have entered into an MOU with the ASEAN PGA to host an event in Brunei. Details of such event are yet to be confirmed but you can bet your last dime, there's going to be a pro tournament in Brunei soon.

Havent heard much about this new association even though the President is my father! He never mentions anything... Ummm

All I can say is all the best for them and think BMMJ players will agree with me that we are happy to support the new association in its objectives to grow the game in Brunei.
